I can honestly say that this is the first weekend of true fall weather. I woke up this morning to go sit on my back porch, and I fell in love! The air was cool and crisp and there was hardly any humidity. It’s like Old Man Winter gently left his calling card right on my back doorstep. An orange sun was rising through the rosy sky, and through the fog and trees. Just a couple days earlier, I had been needing my air conditioner. It was so warm outside. But then, the weather turned on a dime. I knew I was going to enjoy this Saturday. I wouldn’t be needing the air conditioner or the heat. I was going to open every window in my house and maybe some of the doors! I was going to let the autumn right in! In all my excitement, I remembered something very important. My father used to tell me, when Old Man Winter leaves his calling card for the first time, you best start thinking about calling out an HVAC technician to check on your furnace! It’s a good rule to follow. Why wait until it’s genuinely bitter cold outside to call out a furnace repair guy? It’s a much better idea to make sure that your furnace is ready for the winter long before It shows up in full force. I really enjoyed the weather today, but I also made sure to call my local HVAC company, and they’ll be sending somebody out tomorrow.
