I am always conscious of the cleanliness of my home and what I breathe in.
I am aware of this more than other homeowners because I have three cats and three dogs. I like to make sure that my animals and my family are comfortable and can breathe easily. When I am cleaning I can see how much dust, dog and cat hair there is. It kind of grosses me out especially when I have family and friends over, I don’t want them to think my home is dirty. I also like to make sure that my home has the right humidity. Having the ability to control humidity in my home has been a great thing. When I had my HVAC technician come over to do my annual HVAC maintenance check up, he told me that there were equipment for my HVAC system that would allow me to control the humidity. He said controlling humidity such as relative humidity, can improve indoor air quality. This can positively affect the health and productivity of my family and my animals. When my relative humidity levels are below 65% this is the most optimum humidity for a person’s home. During the winter I can tell that my home gets very dry. I will sometimes wake up with a very dry nose which can sometimes lead to a bloody nose. I want the perfect amount of humidity in my home so my throat and my nose don’t get dry. Plus I feel like my home feels more cleaner when there is the right amount of humidity in my home.
