Having pellet stove on and air filter catches the soot

During the winter I would mainly use my pellet stove and not use my furnace as much.

However since it’s been a very mild winter and buying oil for my furnace is very cheap I’ve resorted to just using my furnace.

I’ve set my thermostat to 67 and that’s allowed me to save money on my energy bills and my oil has lasted for a few months now. It’s great when heating my home was much cheaper this year than last year. When I would mainly just use my pellet stove to heat my home I found that it would leave soot on my furniture from the pellets. When I was dusting and cleaning my room I was a little shocked to see how much soot there was. I realized that I had to be breathing in all of this soot. I decided to turn on my furnace and turn my pellet stove off for a few days. I didn’t want to be breathing in the soot. Plus I wanted to see if my air filters would catch the soot that was flying through my home. The day after I took the air filter out and inspected it. I saw that the air filter was almost clogged and you could see the soot from the house. I wanted to contact my HVAC provider to see if there was a way I could still use my pellet stove but somehow minimize the soot coming out of it. I like to heat my house by my furnace and pellet stove.
