Another week goes by and another climate control repair is necessary.
I’m starting to get annoyed with all of the money I’m spending on repairs to my climate control system, but I only have myself to blame.
When I first bought this house from my uncle for a really decent price he warned me that the HVAC system was old and more than likely needed to be replaced entirely. I considered doing so, but in the end, I was tempted to wonder how bad it could be. The answer is, it was really bad. The air conditioner keeps shutting off after a few days of working, and even during those days that it actually functions, it does a terrible job of circulating air and cooling rooms. Now I see why my uncle cautioned me to just go ahead and purchase a brand new HVAC unit. This whole time, I thought I would simply be able to repair problems as they sprung up, but this is the fifth time that I’ve had to repair an issue that cost a lot of money. I think I’m finally going to go ahead and see about a replacement for the old HVAC unit. Now, if I were to go with the advice of a professional HVAC technician, he would tell me that a whole new central HVAC unit would be necessary for my comfort. However, that would cost several thousand dollars. I am not keen on spending that much money, so I think I’m going to go with a different option. I will probably buy a portable air conditioner unit. A portable A/C will be able to keep a single room nice and cool, and I will simply be able to carry it with me to whichever room I’m occupying.
