A few years back, I opted not to get help from a professional HVAC specialist.
Instead, I decided that I had enough knowledge and technical experience to handle my HVAC issue on my own.
A couple years ago, I spoke with a furnace specialist about the issues I was having with my furnace. Once he took a look at it, it did not take him long at all to determine that I needed to replace it immediately. At the time, I didn’t take his advice seriously at all. I did not feel that my climate control system was old enough to warrant being replaced. It may be fifteen, but I had heard of climate control systems that last to age twenty, and that is as long as I wanted mine to last. I dismissed the heating & cooling specialist, and instead had another furnace repairman come and repair the unit. Well, maybe the first specialist was right, because it seems I am having almost constant problems with my old furnace. Something is always breaking down to where I have to call out another technician over and over. This has been ongoing for a few years now, and having crunched the numbers I realized that I easily would have saved more cash in the long run had I just gotten a brand new furnace, just like the original technician had suggested a few years back. I have decided to get my heating unit entirely replaced this week, and hopefully that will solve this problem for a long time to come
