I nudged my daughter in the direction of taking HVAC classes

I have more than two teenage daughters, which is just as stressful as it sounds.

I have no sons, and don’t know what it’s like to parent a teenage boy, but there is no way in hell it can be as challenging as parenting young ladies! My oldest is in her senior year of private school, and has started researching colleges.

It was not an easy conversation to have, when it was time to tell her I was pretty broke and could not afford college tuition, then for the record, I feel colleges are one of the greatest scams out there, and charge exorbitant amounts of money. Instead I nudged her in the direction of taking heating and air conditioning classes at the trade school and told her to think about getting into that line of work, my kid was aghast the suggestion, but then I started spitting facts and figures at her about all the benefits there are to working in the heating and air conditioning industry. First of all, the demand for heating and air conditioning labor is still on the rise, which gives it more job security than almost any other industry, but secondly, heating and air conditioning tech starts off making more currency than most professors and cops make. Third, and perhaps the most important for her, was the heating and air conditioning industry being actively interested in recruiting females. The heating and cooling industry has long been a “boys club” so there has been a big push to recruit female talent. In other words, after she gets her heating and air conditioning certification she will unquestionably be able to find a job, and start off with an excellent salary.
