Demand for HVAC work is on the rise

I have many teenage daughters, which is just as stressful as it sounds. I have no sons, and don’t know what it’s like to parent a teenage boy, but there is no way in hell it can be as challenging as parenting girls! My oldest is in her senior year of school, and has started researching schools. It was not an easy conversation to have, when it was time to tell her I was pretty broke and could not afford school tuition. For the record, I think schools are one of the greatest scams out there, and charge exorbitant amounts of money. Instead I nudged her in the direction of taking heating and air conditioning classes at the trade school and told her to think about getting into that line of work. My child was against the suggestion, but I started spitting facts and figures at her about all the benefits there are to now working in the heating and air conditioning industry. First of all, the demand for heating and air conditioning jobs is still on the rise, which gives it more job security than almost any other industry! Secondly, a heating and air conditioning tech starts off making more money than most educators and cops make, then third, and perhaps the most important for her, was the heating and air conditioning industry being actively interested in recruiting females. The heating and cooling industry has long been a “boys club” so there has been a pressing push to recruit female talent. In other words, after she gets her heating and air conditioning certification she will easily be able to find a job, and start off with an excellent salary.
