I’m hoping to find an older home with an updated heating system that is a little further out of the city
I live in a two-bedroom condo in the downtown area of a highly populated metropolitan city. When I decided to move here last summer, I was very adamant about being in a newly constructed condo that was surrounded by the hustle and bustle of the popular city. It’s been great, but it definitely comes with its cons. Since new construction tends to get built incredibly quickly, I feel that the insulation in the building is not as strong as it could be considering how cold the temperatures get during the winter season here. Because of that, everyone in the building cranks their heaters up so much during the winter. THe electric company charges so much money for heaters during that time because of the high demand, and I really find this upsetting. It’s not our fault that we need to run heaters in order to stay comfortable and well. I’ve resorted to using a space heater in my bedroom at night to cut back on using my central heater since it’s so expensive to run for extended periods of time. I really don’t like using a space heater though because I have heard horror stories about them catching fire at some point throughout the night, so I feel like I don’t always sleep as well when I use it. This whole heating situation has been really stressful for me, so I will be moving out of here when my lease is up. I’m hoping to find an older home with an updated heating system that is a little further out of the city. I could use some peace and quiet again.
