When I was growing up in this region, I really didn’t think all that much about our heating and cooling equipment.

Well, the need for HVAC heating was limited for sure. But there was plenty of air conditioning as I was growing up. Yet, I really didn’t know any better and just sort of took HVAC technology for granted. I also took where I lived for granted as well. Sure, the summer is hot and you for sure want to be inside during the peak heating hours of the day. But the rest of the year is just outstanding from a weather and temperature standpoint. Still, I was so eager to get out of here and just really didn’t know how great I had it. After college, I took my first job out of state and way up north. I was so excited to have a white Christmas and not have such a brutally hot summer. That first winter almost wiped me out. The gas furnace couldn’t provide enough HVAC heating for me if it had been twins. I held on for another few winters but made my way back home at my first opportunity. And since then, I have been very grateful and appreciative to have the residential HVAC that I do. The heat pump just amazes me quite frankly. It’s a wonder really that it’s able to heat and cool my home from one machine. The fact that the heat pump goes from cooling to heating by simply reversing the refrigerant flow is all the more impressive. I love my heat pump and let me tell you one thing. I’ll never be trading my heat pump for a gas furnace again!
