I have so much respect for my ancestors.

Because of them, I’m living the life I get to live each day. They were the brave ones who came to this part of the country to make their own way. That was generations and generations ago but what they started is still a thriving family trust today. We are now still farming the land of our ancestors but we have also delved into land development these days. In fact, we have built planned communities full of lovely homes with great quality heating and air for the last 40 years. And its that HVAC that got me to thinking about my ancestors in a new light. As much appreciation and respect as I have for them being able to carve out what they did and work the land, they did it all without modern HVAC technology. I think many of us who live in this region today forget that our ancestors were living here without the air conditioning that is so completely ubiquitous today. They weren’t able to program their digital thermostat or let the smart thermostat do its thing when it came to HVAC cooling. Those folks had to get up at 3 in the morning to get the farm work done in the summer before the peak heating hours of the afternoon made it near impossible. Shoot, I get cranky when I have to walk to my car in the heat. That’s how soft we’ve become. There is just no way I would be able to live my life these days without the constant HVAC cooling comfort I get from my heat pump.
