There’s no question that I have some growing into homeownership to do.
I’ve been in my house nearly a year and I still keep putting off stuff that just has to be done.
Thankfully, the house came with great quality heating and air or I’d probably be uncomfortable as well as a bit overwhelmed. When I bought the house, it came with brand new HVAC equipment and that was a big thing for me. Honestly, the heating and cooling I was getting inside the apartments I’d rented were a big motivator for homeownership. I wanted to have my own HVAC unit and make sure it got the proper HVAC maintenance in the fall and the spring. Having good quality heating and air was something I just wanted so bad. But when I moved into my house, I didn’t realize all the sorts of things that go with owning a home. Actually, my dad visited not too long ago and kind of had a word with me about taking care of my house and property. That was a bit embarrassing quite frankly. But he’s right. I wasn’t even getting the HVAC air filter changed with any consistency. I so wanted great HVAC equipment but now that I had it, I couldn’t even change the air filter. Dad’s talk was a good thing because it wised me up. It’s just been a while but I’ve already started implementing more structure to my life at home. I even set alarms on my phone for stuff like changing the air filter or calling for HVAC maintenance.
