I had a hard time figuring out if I would rather go for radiant heated floors or a nice geothermal HVAC system. The geothermal system was far more expensive than the radiant heated floors, but I was informed that such a system would last much longer with regular maintenance and care. When the HVAC experts learned that we were also having solar panels hooked up, they said that we would probably be getting checks from the local energy company because the solar panels would cover most of the cost for powering the geothermal heat pump if we chose to go that route. I honestly wanted the most energy efficient system because I didn’t want to have to pay for outrageous energy bills anymore. When I went looking for energy saving tips, investing in solar panels was near the top of the list. So we ended up going for the new geothermal HVAC and had our solar panels installed. It’s funny because they were right, we are getting checks from the local power company now because we are putting energy on the grid regularly these days! I’m so happy that we chose such brilliant homeowner solutions.
