My parents were coming to visit my wife and I for the holidays.
It was to be the first time they have ever been in our brand-new house, and they were staying for two weeks.
I was excited to see my parents again, since we hadn’t seen them since our wedding. As soon as the wedding was over, my wife and I headed south where my new job was to begin. For the last three weeks, my wife had been telling me that we should have the furnace checked before my parents arrived. We had started using the furnace at night, because even though we lived in the South, it got quite chilly when the sun went down. I called the HVAC company, and asked if they could send someone out to inspect our furnace. When the HVAC Tech finally arrived, he asked if we had noticed anything wrong that made us think we should have an HVAC Tech inspect furnace. My wife said about the odd odor that was coming through the air vents whenever the furnace turned on. I must’ve given her an odd look, because the HVAC Tech looked at me, and then over at my wife then back at me. I looked at the HVAC Tech and told him that this was the first time she was telling me about the furnace and the odors. My wife shrugged, said she hadn’t really given it a thought, until the HVAC tech arrived. This was the perfect time to bring up the odors, since the HVAC tech was there to work on the furnace.
