My heating and cooling bill oh, well let us face it, our cooling bill, can be outrageous.
In our neck of the woods the most correct kind of Heating and Cooling in a house is electric central heating and cooling. Most of us have a control unit on the wall and around September we flipped the switch from the cooling side to the heating side. We tend to use our air conditioner all year long. Because of that. I am always looking for ways to save money on our utility bill. Since our heating and cooling is electric, our electric bill reflects our almost year-long use of the air conditioner. I have done all kinds of things to save money on our utility bill. I have started taking showers every other afternoon instead of every afternoon. This means our water furnace works less frequently and that saves money. On the off afternoons, I simply sponge bathe. I also turn off the ceiling fans every time I leave a room. I also have Sun blocking curtains on the windows. All of these things help minimize our use of heating and cooling and so save myself and others money.Recently, though, our brother asked myself and others when was the last time I had our house’s insulation checked. well, I did not even think you could get your insulation checked! I had our insulation checked, and I discovered there were sections of our attic that had no Insulation at all! So, that is 1 of the things I am working on next to save on our Heating & Cooling costs.
