When I was in college I never lived in the dorms. In fact, I was not a proper college student at all. By the time I started taking classes in college I was already married… Right before our child was born, I took our final exam in a single of our classes. Oh, & our tummy was so large that I could not fit in the desks in the room. I had to use the instructor’s desk. Anyway, I never wanted to live in the dorms in any event because about half the dorms on campus had no air conditioner. Now, it’s not prefer both of us live in the Great Northwest where most of the year is cool. No, both of us live in the southeastern United States, & let me tell you there is no hotter or humid locale on Earth. I definitely thought it was inhuman 2 ask those students to live without air conditioner. It seemed as if most people definitely did not give it a hour thought though. When our child got seasoned enough to go to college, he chose the same College I went to. She was also considering living in the dorms. I tried to discourage his because I knew there was no way he could concentrate if he did not have any A/C in his room. That’s when both of us opted to go on a tour. The tour guide took us into the dorms & what did I discover?! The mornings of no A/C were long gone. In fact, each individual dorm room now has its own mini split a/c. Every dorm room has a control device so the students can adjust their own temperature. His air conditioner is better than mine! Once I discovered that the school had embraced Heating & Air Conditioning technology, I was more than cheerful to have his living in the dorms.
