The winters are very mild here

When I see the calendar flip over to October, I sort of let out a sigh of relief and put an immense grin on my face as well.

This is because I know that the summer is essentially over.

There may be a few more afternoons in the high 70’s left but the days of temperatures hovering just at or over a hundred are over for the next 7 or 8 weeks. That is a relief indeed. As strenuous as it can be to manage the summer heat, it’s totally worth it. The rest of the year is absolutely glorious when it comes to weather and temperature. The winter season is so mild that our heat pump rarely even has to be flipped over to heating on the thermostat. Now that’s the sort of winter season that I like. I’ve experienced what our neighbors to the far north experience and never want any area of that again. Pretty much, if you need a gas furnace or a boiler to get through the winter season, it’s just too frigid for me. But like I said, we more than make up for it with the summer heat. And it’s not just the high temperatures, it’s the humidity as well. Thankfully, residential heating and air conditioning can manage both the heat and the humidity. The heat pump is designed to move heat energy out of the house. And as it does this, it’s taking a bunch of moisture with it. That balances the humidity levels inside our homes. This makes such an immense difference to the comfort of our homes. The heat pump and heating and air conditioning cooling are the only thing that can absolutely manage this sort of summer. But as we welcome October, I’ll start to believe less about all the air conditioning.
