Did you know that I studied to be an HVAC technician, but I never became an HVAC technician? Most people are very surprised when they find out that I am actually a certified HVAC technician.
Well, technically, I used to be a certified HVAC technician. In order to remain a certified HVAC technician, you have to renew your license every year, but since I haven’t worked as an HVAC technician for an HVAC company in a very long time, I lost my certification a long time ago. However, there was a point that I was an actual HVAC technician. The weird part is that I never worked for an HVAC company in my life. Just as soon as I became a certified HVAC technician, I quit being an HVAC technician completely. I guess that I just discovered that becoming an HVAC technician wasn’t right for me. I decided to become a minister instead, and I knew that I was going to become a minister halfway through my training as an HVAC technician. My parents fully supported my decision to become a minister, but my dad still encouraged me to become an HVAC technician. He said that there was a good chance that I could find a church that couldn’t pay me, and I would be able to provide an income as an HVAC technician while being a minister. He also put a high value on finishing what you start, and since I started my training as an HVAC technician, he wanted me to finish. After I became a certified HVAC technician, I immediately went to seminary. I have never had to work as an HVAC technician, and there are a ton of things that I do not remember that I learned during my training. If you do not use it, you lose it.
