My husband kept smirking.
I could see it in the corner of my eye, although when I would glance in his direction, he would quickly look away or look at me innocently.
I knew he was up to something, but I wasn’t sure what. As I approached our house, he became even more antsy. Finally when I unlocked the door, eyeing him suspiciously the entire time, he jammed a box in my hands. It was a jigsaw puzzle? He knows I hate puzzles, so I looked at him, puzzled. He smiled and told me it was a surprise, and in order to get the surprise, I had to solve the jigsaw puzzle first! I couldn’t help but to be slightly amused and slightly annoyed at his antics, and then I got on my hands and knees and started putting the pieces together. It took me approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, with my husband pacing behind me impatiently. When I finally solved it, it directed me to the front of the house. It was then I saw it, a smart control thermostat! I had recently told my husband about how cool it would be to have one, and to be able to control the temperature and your HVAC machines even if you’re not home, and he must have taken the idea to heart! I hugged him and thanked him for the surprise, I would have never thought about my present being about the heating and cooling systems! My husband showed me how the controls worked and how to turn on the heater and A/C with my phone, and it was so cool!
