All of my friends always tell me to get with the times when it comes to the technology I use around our home, because almost everything is simple and old fashioned because I simply prefer it that way and it’s better in my opinion! Just because something is new and up-to-date doesn’t mean that it’s better than the ancient stuff.
However, when it came to our HVAC control equipment our friends were right! I had an old dial thermostat that truly needed to go, so what I did was get a smart thermostat that I can control with my phone.
I have to tell you that the smart thermostat is way better than the old dial thermostat in multiple ways. Dial thermostats do not supply you the option to control your central heating and a/c unit when you are away from your home or in another part of the house; The smart thermostat will do all of the above! On top of having that convenience, it also is a good energy saver on the amount of time your central heating and a/c unit is running throughout the course of the day. Because of this current smart thermostat I got, I was able to literally cut our utility bills in half, which was an awesome thing! So if you are anything like me and prefer the old fashioned stuff then believe me when I tell you that the smart thermostat is the rare exception to where current technology is better! Actually, with most current heating and cooling technology this theory stands. So if you do not have one at this time, go ahead and buy yourself a modern smart thermostat.
