Sometimes I wonder if my children really belong to me.
- It’s not that I doubt my wife’s devotion to our relationship or faithfulness to our marriage…
But these kids of mine are so weird. Both of my children have very strange quirks that do not seem compatible with my own DNA. First of all, I am the sort of person who enjoys spending time outdoors while they seem to be afraid of nature. I am also the least picky eater on the planet, whereas my children will barely eat anything. Lastly, I am not a very high maintenance person when it comes to my indoor air quality or are temperature management… Meanwhile, my kids direct the thermostat settings and insisted that we have professional HVAC repairs on a regular basis. I could never understand why they were so concerned with the central heating, cooling, and air quality control system as children. They are always commenting on the fluctuating indoor air temperature and assumed contaminations floating through our air duct work. Eventually, I got so tired of hearing my daughter complaining about the heating and cooling failures that I decided to give her a lesson in responsibility. Now, my oldest daughter is responsible for all of our professional heating, cooling, and air quality control appointments. She has to arrange the routine HVAC inspections and cleaning services. If there’s ever an air quality concern in between our HVAC appointments, I let my daughter clean the heating and cooling system with her own two hands. Let’s see how much she cares about the air quality now.
