Cut aquarium room off from central HVAC system

When I was growing up I remember taking a trip to the local big box store and picking out an aquarium kit with my parents.

I was only a little kid, so this has to be one of my earliest memories in my life.

To be honest, I’m not sure why they decided to purchase this large fish tank for me, but I’m glad that they did. From that day forward, I always had fish tanks in my bedroom. I learned everything there was to know about tropical species’ maintenance and care. In my adult years, my hobby of fish keeping really took off. Honestly, at this point I think that my aquarium collection is a bit of a problem. I actually have an entire room that is devoted to my beautiful fish. There’s nothing wrong with my pets… Except for their effect on my indoor air quality. You see, since I have so much heat and humidity circulating through one of my bedrooms, the air quality regularly affects the rest of my house. Having one centralized air temperature control system means that my smelly, muggy fish air quickly circulates with the rest of my high-quality indoor air. Soon, the entire house has started smelling like a pond and there is excessive humidity in every space. I really hate the idea of getting a separate heating and cooling system for my aquarium room… But I’m not sure what other option I have. At this point, I have closed off my fish room from the central HVAC unit. I need to find a new air quality control solution so my house can stop wreaking like the fish market.
