It is the 10th of May and Brenda and Tom are just starting to work on promoting their band for the Summer season in town.

They will do five gigs a week and make $300 each per gig, which will pretty much pay for all of their bills for the month.

After that, they can ease off on the other tasks they do to focus solely on songs. Brenda and Tom still need to work on their drumming skills some more because it is taxing for them to drum and sing at the same time, but they are working on it. Their mini split air conditioner device is keeping them nice and cool in this room as they do their work, making them grateful for even having some temperature control in the apartment. There was a time not long ago when the whole Summer they would be covered in sweat and uncomfortable and hoping for the cooler weather to come and save them. They pay two hundred more a month now for their Heating and Air Conditioning system and new apartment, however it is also six years later and many prices have gone up quite a bit. They can still live here cheaply compared to the US and will ride out the rest of their lives here if all goes as planned. They are working for the local HVAC business in their neighborhood and will keep working for them for five more years till they finally throw in the towel and retire altogether. Brenda and Tom will always be glad when they look back about their working job though.
