There are some cousins that are more like your siblings than relatives.
This is how I view Monica.
We grew up together, and are more like sisters than cousins. Our moms are sisters, and are quite close. Monica and her mom moved in with us when I was two, after she left her abusive husband. It took some time for her to get back on her feet, but she did and even went back to school. Once Monica and her mom were in a good place financially, they bought a house about two doors from ours and that’s how we ended up even closer. Even though we had other friends, and went to different colleges after high school, we’ve always been the best of friends. Monica runs a successful business in the city, and now owns her own house in a wonderful area. I was there to see her last spring, and we had an epic time together. Monica loves turning on her central air unit during spring, and that made me even happier. See, since I was young, I loved air conditioning and remaining cool. My body tends to heat up, and I sweat so much, so the best thing to do is have the AC running frequently. As soon as the weather starts to change during spring, I have the HVAC technician come over for spring maintenance. Then, I start running my unit until late fall when it cools down once more. Monica knows this about me and that’s why she had her central air unit running when I was visiting her.
