My boss must be insane.

In order to partially cover recent financial losses, he is severely restricting our use of the temperature control in the middle of a heat wave in the middle of the summer! He offered us a big talk Last week about cutting costs anywhere it’s possible.

A wonderful part of the discussion was what he considered to be our abuse of the temperature control that controlled the temperature of our office space. The temperature control was barely on our radar prior to this. Apparently, other employees had been having temperature control wars, or something. Honestly, the swing in temperatures wasn’t something that I observed too much. Now, however, after this big long talk about budgeting, the really next day, I observed a distinct difference in the temperature of the office! The temperature control was now encased in a plastic sheath that required a key to open! Our boss didn’t waste any time setting that up, now did he? Also, I could barely believe how overheated it was in the office when I walked in that day. I did the same thing a couple others did, I walked over to the temperature control to see what temperature it was reading. Our boss had locked the temperature to 75°! 75°? That’s an absurdly high temperature. You almost may as well not even have the air conditioner running at all. In fact, the air conditioner didn’t have much trouble keeping the temperature at 75° throughout the day. I only heard it kick on a handful of times. Meanwhile, everybody’s dripping with sweat at their desk and having misgivings about their task situation!
