In the middle of the work week, the one thing that I crave more than anything is not having to set an alarm at all.
The first opportunity that I have to not set an alarm comes on Friday night.
It is a joyous occasion, because I know that I can sleep as long as I want to. Granted, I can’t sleep the whole day away, but I always get up at a reasonable time. I’ve heard it’s bad for you to be jarred awake by an alarm clock, and I totally believe it. However, whether I am able to sleep as long as I desire, or whether I have to get up at 6:00 a.m. sharp to get ready for work, the one thing that I can rely on to get a good night’s rest with the hours that I’m allotted based on my schedule, is good air conditioning. I simply can’t live without a good air conditioner. Well, I suppose I’d manage, but sleep would be a whole lot more difficult, that’s for sure! I make sure that my air conditioner is well maintained throughout the year, because you take care of what you can’t live without. My mother always recommended to me that I find a good doctor, a good dentist, a good accountant, and a good barber, among others. Well, that’s sagely wisdom right there, but I would add a good heating and air conditioning technician to that list. In fact, I did add a good heating and air conditioning technician to that list! I’ve been doing business with the same HVAC company for a quarter of a century now. Yes, it’s been 25 years since I plopped down on my own property, at the age of 25, incidentally. These guys have been taking care of me well, and they’ll have my patronage till the day I die, if they keep it up!
