I was sitting on our favorite recliner last week, & I observed it was getting a bit of thread bare, then my sibling told me it was time to replace the chair, although I couldn’t afford to buy another a single, then i had spent more than $1000 on this chair about numerous years ago! The teenagers played in the chair & we all sat on it.
I wondered if it would be worth reupholstering.
I called the local upholstery shop & asked about getting our recliner reupholstered, however he asked if the chair was leather & I said it was just cloth. He asked about the mechanisms & the stuffing, & wanted to know how much use the chair got. He then asked when I bought the chair & what I paid for it. When I told him when I bought it & how much it cost, he said I would be better off purchasing a modern recliner. He said that they made modern chairs more cheaply now than they made them before, & it would cost more to reupholster than if we bought a modern chair. He told me it would be a waste of his time & our cash to have the reupholstering done. I thought he was being mean & telling me the chair was cheap, although I couldn’t refute what he was saying. I had already looked at the cost of reupholstering & I could actually buy more than one chairs for the price of reupholstering our old recliner. I ditched the plan of having our chair reupholstered, & went shopping, looking for a modern recliner.
