I was sitting on my number one recliner last week, and I noticed it was getting a bit of thread bare! My sister told myself and others it was time to upgrade the chair, but I couldn’t afford to buy another one, but i had spent more than $1000 on this chair about numerous years ago… The adolescents played in the chair and the two of us all sat on it. I wondered if it would be worth reupholstering. I called the local upholstery shop and asked about getting my recliner reupholstered, but he asked if the chair was leather and I said it was just cloth. He asked about the mechanisms and the stuffing, and wanted to guess how much use the chair got. He then asked when I purchased the chair and what I paid for it, when I told him when I bought it and how much it cost, he said I would be better off purchasing a new recliner. He said that they made new chairs more cheaply now than they made them before, and it would cost more to reupholster than if the two of us bought a new chair. He told myself and others it would be a waste of his time and my cash to have the reupholstering done. I thought he was being mean and telling myself and others the chair was cheap, but I couldn’t refute what he was saying. I had already looked at the cost of reupholstering and I could absolutely buy numerous chairs for the price of reupholstering my old recliner. I ditched the method of having my chair reupholstered, and went shopping, looking for a new recliner.
