As per the norm, I had an exciting day at work, and as usual, my grandpa was waiting to hear all about it. My day started with an early morning work order. A newly married couple was traveling for their honeymoon and needed to have the HVAC installation of their new air conditioning system done before they left. I had my team of cooling specialists remove the malfunctioned electric pump and fit in a new quality HVAC unit. Later, when we returned to the office, I was assigned a work order to repair a faulty digital thermostat. On reaching the residents and examining the device, I discovered that it had been immersed in water which malfunctioned. The family had given me a different reason for the malfunction. I fixed the device with their autistic child screaming in his room about not being given his toy. By midday, I had attended to at least three air conditioner tune-ups to help with indoor comfort. The cooling corporation is popular among the residents because our a/c professionals are highly trained to provide satisfactory and efficient air conditioner service. I met a kind-hearted woman in the afternoon while fixing her ductless mini-split unit. She was also hilarious with a dark sense of humor like mine. I even told grandpa about a joke the woman made. We laughed, and grandpa was almost out of breath with laughter. Grandpa finished my state by saying the a/c workers in any indoor comfort business must have so much fun. This is my fifth year working at the company, but to grandpa, it’s my first day on the job. He has Alzheimer’s and forgets all I have said.
