Heating technology evolution

Last summer, I visited my aunt, and the best part about being there, other than spending time with them, was riding the horses since they live on a ranch. One cold afternoon while I was going through books in their mini library, I came across a book on heating technology. The author of the book is a certified HVAC tech who has a wealth of experience of more than sixty years. He lays down the evolution of heating equipment and systems within the heating industry. It is hard to imagine that a steam furnace was once a popular heating option, and some were powered by burning wood. Some of the old heating devices were very noisy, not to say that it was hard to achieve the desired temperature because they did not have the kind of temperature regulators like we do now. In today’s world, you can easily program your preferred temperature settings, or better yet, an innovative and digital thermostat can ‘learn’ your temperature preferences at different times and program itself. Technological strides have made it possible to achieve geothermal heating for our homes. A geo heat pump installation is best in a place with enough space to lay the ground loop systems. Ductwork has also greatly improved over the years and is more energy-efficient than before. With ducts, it’s inevitable to have duct sealing to ensure that no cooling or heat is lost. The new units are more energy-efficient, and heating maintenance and heating repair have been made easier for the HVAC serviceman because the units are less bulky. There are more specialized tools for the job. Nowadays, you can quickly call a heating dealer and get home services without leaving the comfort of your home.
