When my son was brought into the world, I was so blissful.
It was only us since his father made the choice to waive his rights as the father.
My son was healthy and blissful on that day though. Sadly, the healthcare workers discovered he had a severe complication a little while later. It would take time for my son to develop, meaning he’d consistently be a little slower than the other kids his age. This news hit me pretty hard like a ton of bricks. Because of my family, I did actually pick myself up and rise to the occasion as his mom. When he was the proper age to join the school, I had to discover a special school for him. It took some time to track down the best one, however we eventually got admission to a good institution. My son enjoyed it a great deal, and all the special educators were quite fantastic with the kids. When I was at work, I got a call from the school asking to go and take my son home. The school was having some sort of issue with its boiler machine, so there wasn’t enough heat to keep the students warm. Instead of keeping them in chilly classes, the school was requesting parents to get all the kids. I asked my boss for the rest of the day off and then picked my son up. When I got to the school, a van from an A/C supplier was just pulling into the parking lot. This made me happy since the principal worked hard to be certain the heating machine was back on track. We walked into the school with the boiler specialist and went to have a talk with the principal. She explained that there seemed to be some leak from the boiler machine affecting its ability to produce enough heating for the school.
