Finally leaving it all behind in the city feels just as great as I thought it was going to.

I just wish I had been able to do this like a decade earlier.

But it took that extra decade of bad heating and cooling in middling apartments before I had enough money to make the move. My career was never a problem as I can work from anywhere with a internet connection. But coming up with the money to buy property was another thing. So now that I’m out here and on my own land, I’m also experiencing the best air conditioning I’ve ever had. That seems sort of backward. One would think that living in a basic cabin way out in the woods probably wouldn’t come with much quality heating and air. Well, I’m so thankful that the opposite turned out to be true. My cabin is indeed pretty basic with one bathroom, a big bedroom and a home office. But it also has a ductless multi split system in it for heating and cooling. This ductless multi split system is essentially just two ductless heat pumps. I had to pay a bit extra to get the HVAC technician all the way out here to install the ductless heat pump. But man is it ever worth it. I also have a wood stove for the winter months. But I can use it as I need it thanks to the great HVAC heating from the ductless heat pumps. And the ductless heat pumps are awesome with the HVAC cooling in the summer.
