I researched a lot of different ideas for shipping container homes.

I was beside myself with ideas. I was overwhelmed and I didn’t know which way to go. I decided to talk with a contractor that offered to meet with me for free. We spoke for about an hour about the shipping containers. The guy had a lot of great ideas. The one our consultation was absolutely free, but the next time he came out to my house he was under contract. As soon as I heard the great ideas from the contractor, I immediately wanted to hire him to complete the work. He said we could work slowly, because it was going to be an expensive project. Money was less of an object than time, because I wanted the project to be completed before the winter season started. I wasn’t particularly concerned with the costs, because I had some money saved up. The contractor spent three months working every day of the week Monday through Friday. Two of those months he had a crew of ten guys working on the shipping containers. They wired electricity as well as heat and air conditioning. They cut out spaces for Windows and added appliances for the kitchen and Furniture in the bedroom. When the contractors were done, the shipping containers looked great and made a really nice home.
