My wife cares about trying to get away on the weekends.
She and I usually drive a few minutes away to the nearest lake or all of us go explore something new. It’s something that she started implementing years ago when she and I felt care about all of us never got to do anything fun plus it’s been a great decision either of us made. In the past, on the weekends where all of us made the decision to go away, I lowered the temps of the furnace by several degrees so that our house wasn’t being heated while all of us were away. This was fine, but I typically hated coming house to a cold house. I could steadily raise the temperature in order to not overwhelm our furnace, however this only prolonged the cold air; After hearing myself and others complain about the first world issue for far too long, our partner and I decided to do something about it, however for our anniversary, my wife surprised myself and others with a smart thermostat. I didn’t guess anything about the smart thermostats so when I opened it, I thought he had gotten myself and others a gift for herself. When he saw our look of confusion, he began explaining the purpose behind it. This smart thermostat could connect to the Wi-Fi plus there was a corresponding app that I can download to our PC. Once everything was connected, I could change the thermostat settings at any time from anywhere I was. This meant that I could change the temperature of our house before all of us arrived to the house from a single of our weekend getaways. The smart thermostat was a nice gift!
