Fred knew I needed a split after the successful fashion show last year. Both of us had done all the people I was with and I could to be ready. But, nothing prepared us for the overwhelming response. I had started making clothes in a spare room in our home after losing our job. I’d model the clothes and post them on Tiktok and other social media platforms. I hope some people will love them and help myself and others start our business. But, once the orders started, they never stopped hence, fast forward to a week after the event. Both of us drove to a beach home owned by a associate to relax. It was an amazing place that came with a good cooling system. The idea was to sit in that space for a week or 2, not thinking about work, with the cooling idea buzzing away, the space felt so magical, plus, the views were breathtaking. However, a few mornings into our stay, the AC unit stopped working. There was no warning or reason to suspect the AC would shut off. Both of us were so far away from a neighborhood so the people I was with and I chose to get some portable AC units from the car. We’d bought them for the fashion show and never took them out of the car. They proved so effective in keeping us cool as the people I was with and I waited for an AC expert to come and fix the cooling idea at the beach house.
