Angel was quite an odd sister.
We were close growing up, but she was not quite as girlish as you’d expect.
She loved riding skateboards and roughing it up with boys. Camping and hiking were her favorite things as a teen. But, we always made space for one another in our lives. I’d go camping with her if she went to get mani-pedis with me. Mom always taught us that people were different, and we had to learn to accept and accommodate each other. Last month, Angel came into town since we had plans. A few months back, we’d gone hiking together on a wonderful trail. Now it was my turn to do something I liked. Because of work, I couldn’t travel, so instead, we went to a posh nail parlour. But, the place turned out to be quite disappointing because of the damaged AC. The nail technicians kept apologizing for the heat, and we decided to stay even without a cooling system. It felt so hot and humid, so they brought out some fans to keep us cool while an AC technician worked on their air conditioner. One of the ladies informed us the cooling system had been working that morning. However, it just started making a loud noise after, and they had to turn it off. Lucky for them, they had an AC repair and maintenance plan with a nearby HVAC company that sent over a repair person. The AC technician did his best to make sure the unit was back in working conditions. The ladies were worried no one would come in once word spread they had a faulty HVAC.
