My mom and sister were coming over for the holidays. We’d not seen each other for quite some time since the pandemic hit. During that stressful period, I gave birth to a beautiful little girl. Mom was so eager to see her and was literally counting the days before the trip. My sister kept calling me with stories of mom’s shopping sprees for her first grandchild. The day finally came, and they flew over to stay with us for a week or so. My husband came to pick them up from the airport, and I was so happy to see them that I broke down. The whole situation overcame mom because she was scared we’d never see each other again for some time. I’d developed a complication when giving birth. Luckily, the infection passed, and I was all better. We enjoyed that evening eating dinner and went to bed after many stories. At around 2 am, a loud banging noise woke me up. It was coming from the AC. I woke up to find my husband and sister downstairs trying to figure out the issue with the air conditioner. Since none of us was an HVAC expert, I suggested we shut off the HVAC and call a technician in the morning. Early the following morning, my husband asked the AC technician to come by our home to check the noise source. One of the AC fan blades had come loose and was getting blown all over the AC unit. The AC expert changed the fan and cleaned the air filter before closing up the system and turning it back on.
