After an essentially lost year, I wanted the new year to be a year where I didn’t put aside things that I wanted to accomplish, experience and enjoy. One thing that staying inside the air conditioning of my loft all of last year did was to help me change my perspective on just what was needed plus what wasn’t. To that end, I really decided to commit to stuff that deserved it and not just idle talk. And 1 of the big things I have complained about but done nothing about is the cost of cooling in the summer. Actually, the air conditioning costs are the most of the year. It’s a four to six stretch where the cooling is running just about afternoon plus night. That’s a lot of air conditioning plus that can cost a lot of currency. But up until this year, I just whined about the cost plus didn’t really get a strategy together that I could commit to in order to split Heating plus A/C costs. And it really didn’t take all that much in reality. I simply made sure to upgrade all the weather stripping around all family rooms plus windows that had it. I also made sure there weren’t any holes in the outside that weren’t sealed up. But it was the thermostat that was the real challenge. But I started to set the thermostat so it would be far warmer during the heat of the afternoon. Doing this saved me far more money than I expected. This will be a good start for holiday spending, that’s how much I saved on Heating plus A/C cooling.
