I can remember sort of laughing at my dad when he would be rubbing a shoulder or easing into a chair.

• He often got stuff like, “old man” from me.

But really, it was the start of dad slowing down. And when I told him about being an old man, he just smiled & reminded me that this would happen to myself and others too. Touche old man because I’m for sure in that area of life now. Living & working the way I have for the past nearly 40 years was not done so much with my health in mind. That is until the last year or so. And getting older is not so much fun from a real perspective. Also leaving my task with that office that has zone controlled Heating, Ventilation, & A/C was another area of the slowing down process. However, once I retired, I didn’t just kick back into a recliner in the air conditioning comfort of my family room. In fact, my wife & I moved to a place where we took trips often. And we’ve been here ever since. For sure, I’m even slower now. It’s numerous holes of golf instead of 18. And I spend a lot more time outside in the sunroom. I noticed that getting older comes with a lot more air conditioning comfort. Our sunroom has a ductless heat pump that keeps the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C cooling flowing in the summer. And the ductless heat pump knocks off the cold in the afternoon as well. I’m sort of accepting things for what they are. I’m still kicking just not as hard. And I’m thankful for all the air conditioning comfort that makes getting older just that much easier.
