Needing emergency heating repairs

When I 1st started up the natural gas furnace in the fall, it wasn’t acting just right.

Because the weather went cold with little warning & much earlier than usual, I hadn’t gotten around to scheduling my seasonal system maintenance, then i knew there was actually some dust, lint & other debris gathered inside the HVAC components; While I had nice intentions to contact a local Heating, Ventilation and A/C company & set myself up an appointment, but I simply got tied up & forgot! There was a lot to do to prepare for Wintertide & not much time to get it done… Along with plummeting rapidly adjusting temperatures, the weather forecast was calling for heavy snow & potential blizzard like conditions.

I had yet to winterize the pool & put the barbecue grill & patio furniture into my storage shed. I needed to buy rock salt for the front steps, hire somebody to plow the driveway & find the snow rakes and shovels. It takes a while to make sure all of the Wintertide gear, such as heavy boots, coats, heavy gloves & hats are accessible. There’s also the process of tightening up the house for winter. I always make it a point to make sure the windows are closed tight, inspect the caulk around them & check the overall condition of the insulation in the attic. I occasionally roll up towels & place them on windowsills & along the bottom of exterior doors to prevent drafts! Since the gas furnace was fully operational & supplying heat, I never offered it a thought! Sadly, the oil furnace quit in the middle of that early blizzard. The outside temperature had plummeted to well below zero degrees with heavy snowfall. The two of us needed emergency heating repair.
