How to get a warmer home in the winter

Recently I have been trying weird methods of keeping our home heated up while in the winter.

One of the first things that is vital to keeping your apartment warm, is apparently a oil furnace… But if you are prefer me, and you have a heating plan that is old and not working that well, then sometimes you have to rely on other methods.

I heard these methods from a neighbor who can’t afford a new heater, so she discovered a few weird ways of warming her house. One of these methods is keeping the blinds open. Where I live, the morninglight shines directly on our house, which isn’t wonderful in the summer, however works to our benefit in the winter! Keeping our blinds open means that the morninglight will start warming up the air in our home. I’ve also decorated our home with some nice carpets, so our hardwood floor is not icy cold when I walk around the house. Honestly though, the method that has worked best for myself and others is if you have a fireplace, however some houses really use their fireplace as their only source of heating, however our home is too big for that, however anyways, when I am feeling really cold, I will turn on our fireplace and rest there wrapped up in several layers and blankets, Dunkin Donuts Latte in hand, and just relax. My fireplace time has proven to be incredibly relaxing, and I am able to suppose better when I am sitting there. But the best part is the fact that it warms up our entire residing room and family room, so it makes our home bearable to live in through the winter.
