I recently picked up gardening as a hobby

Ever since this pandemic hit, I have been bored at home, with nothing really to do. Apart from my job, which has been moved to work at home, I don’t really have anything else to do. My friends are all mostly staying home because of the virus, and I don’t feel comfortable wasting my time continually watching TV and eating. I like to do something productive with my time. As I looked at my dry and barren backyard, I thought that it would be cool to maybe start a garden. I made a quick run to the market and picked up some strawberry seeds, which I figured would be a great starter plant. I spent a few hours in the yard, digging and planting, digging and planting. Then taking a house and watering down the entire patch of soil. I grabbed bags of plant food and dumped down, and removed all of the weeds from that section of the yard. I tried to choose the healthiest organic fertilizers as well. Overall, it took about 5 hours. Whew! I didn’t realize gardening could take so much work! I was absolutely boiling hot. I actually had to rest in front of the air conditioning unit for a while. Obviously if I am going to continue gardening, I am going to either take breaks for the a/c unit, or, bring a big fan outside to serve as a temporarily cooling system. I decided on the box fan, and I let the fan be my air conditioning system while I was outside. It was all worth it though, all of the sweating and going through the blazing heat, even the increase in my utility bill, when I finally saw some strawberries ready for harvest!
