So there is really something to be said for getting off of one’s duff plus out of the air conditioner for a bit of winter time prep.
That’s what I did late last November.
I promised myself that when the teenagers went back to university last Fall that I’d finally do something about getting ready for Winter. I’ve promised my husband various times during various Falls that I’d prep the home for the coming Winter. And each time, there were too various substantial football or baseball games that I had to see on the weekends. I wasn’t going outside to do the necessary preparations plus miss the games. This response went nowhere with my husband. So this time, I figured I’d get this prep done prior to the major kickoff for the university plus pro football seasons. To my good surprise, it was a whole lot easier than I thought it was going to be, but then again, I absolutely had no idea just where to beginning or exactly what to do which had a lot to do with me dragging my feet. It took less than five minutes for me to get all the information that I needed from the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C company website. Once I had the game plan, the rest just fell into site. Shoot, the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C company even provided me with shopping list for the hardware store. It took me a couple of weekend afternoons to get this home sealed up absolutely tight. I even upgraded a storm door. So once I got the heating maintenance done on the gas furnace. I was ready to roll. It’s Spring now plus I’ve just done the final tally on the heating bills. I can’t know that I saved over 20 percent on heating costs thanks to a few hours of effort.
