When we were condo shopping, one of the things we had at the top of our list for the realtor was that we wanted a fireplace. My friend and I looked at ten houses the first week, and none of them had the condo we wanted, or the fireplace. My friend and I wanted an older condo on at least ten acres, and a fireplace. My friend and I saw trailers in trailer parks, but she showed us a small cottage that was next to state game lands. She didn’t actually show us an older house, or a locale with a fireplace. She told us it was hard to find a condo with a fireplace. Most people didn’t want to mess with a fireplace, so they either had them taken out, or didn’t buy the house… If they weren’t buying houses with the fireplaces, where were they? The realtor told me she just couldn’t find any. I showed her a condo we had found on zillow. It was an older condo on fifteen acres, and the condo needed work, and the condo was worth more than the list price. She said it was in bad shape and didn’t guess we would be interested. I told her we wanted an older condo so we could repair it and make it ours. She provided me with a look that asked if I was kidding. I pointed out there was also a fireplace in the house. She asked if we wanted to look at the house. If the condo had a good roof and a dry basement, we were going to buy it. Two weeks later, we obtained our house, and it had a real fireplace.
