He looked disheveled and gorgeous, so utterly at home in his oversized body that making baby cereal seemed as masculine as growing a beard. The sweet mundane moment was interrupted by a nasty noise that, without a doubt, came from the heating equipment. Their calls to the heating company had grown frequent in the past three years, and the HVAC professional was almost like family. The heating repair had become a norm in their house, and they had long given up on heater maintenance due to frequent breakdowns. Paul was not worried about it because they were remodeling their home, which would include a new electric heater. In the meantime, however, they had to use a portable heating device when the unit failed. Quality heating would be integral to their remodeling project; hence, they had to consult a heating dealership. After the consultation, they opted for an electric furnace. The HVAC installation would be much easier during the remodeling, not to mention the contemporary fireplace they wanted to add. The heating dealer delivered the HVAC unit a week later. The heating technician had also advised them to buy a new thermostat. Two months later, their home looked like a different house. Beatrice, their one-year-old daughter, had more room to roam since she had started walking. Paul would no longer bump his head when going to the bathroom or either of the bedrooms. Lucille, their other daughter, was secretly beaming at her newfound family.
