I was aggravated with my boss last week, because he promised to make me the lead technician.

• The owner of the HVAC business where I work was supposed to give me a promotion and a raise, but he gave it to his son instead.

I was supposed to become the next lead technician, and it isn’t fair that the guy got the job just because he is related to the boss. I tried to complain and I told my boss that I was unhappy. I even threatened to quit my job, but he didn’t seem to mind. The next day I took my resignation letter to the office and I didn’t even bother to give the owner of the SUV AC business two weeks’ notice. I honestly didn’t think he deserved 2 weeks notice after promising to give me the job and going back on that promise. I went to one of the competing HVAC businesses as soon as I quit my job. I thought it would be really easy to find a job somewhere else and I was right. I easily found a job working at a competing HVAC business for the same rate that I was making and I found a job working at a commercial and residential HVAC business making $2 extra. The job required me to commute 40 minutes, so I decided to take the job making the same amount of money. At least I would have some respect from the people around me instead of getting stomped on like I did at the other place.
