I was helping a customer with a furnace repair and left a couple of the parts back at the shop.
I was about 40 minutes away from the office, but I had to leave and travel all the way back to the building to get the right parts for the furnace repair.
I was angry and ticked off at myself when I realized that I was going to be late for the afternoon appointment. I finished with the furnace repair around 1:00 p.m. and I contacted the next customer to let her know that I was on the way. She called me because the gas furnace was not working and I thought that the issue was probably some type of gas line problem. When I arrived at the customer’s address, she was not home. I had to wait 30 minutes. I talked to her at 1:00 to let her know I was on the way and it was only about 30 minutes later. I don’t know why she didn’t just tell me that she wasn’t home yet. I would have stopped for lunch and gotten a bite to eat instead of rushing around to get there and wait for her to show up. Of course, I didn’t show any aggravation to the customer, because her satisfaction is our guarantee. At the end of the day, I was wiped out and ready to relax and go to sleep. I didn’t want to go out with my friends even though we were supposed to go to the shooting range and have some beers. I decided to stay home and go to bed early instead.
