My parents decided to transfer my family & I to the South when I was in elementary school. At first I certainly liked the change, as it was nice to get away from all the freezing hot & cold temperatures up north. We used to get blizzards every year that would make it strenuous to even get on the roads to drive to the grocery store. So the warm hot & cold temperatures & constant Sunshine was a welcome change at first. I remember the first Wintertide I spent down here & the exhilarating feeling of wearing a pair of shorts in the middle of December. I had classmates that would freeze to death kneeling outside in the days when it was only 55° outside, however I usually felt truly comfortable. Of course you usually get used to the new hot & cold temperatures no longer feeling care about it’s certainly comfortable when it’s only slightly freezing outside. On top of that there is also the problem with hurricanes hitting this area, however even if I can love air conditioner in the middle of the winter, it’s not worth a lot when you are always getting brushed by bad hurricanes, last year one destructiond my a/c for instance, but usually those Heating, Ventilation, & A/C condensers are supposed to be bolted into the ground, however mine got ripped off its concrete foundation. I did not have to worry too much about it though because it was covered by my manufacturer warranty. So I called the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C supplier after it happened & they were happy to send out a professional to repair it. It took a little bit of time & I had to go without air conditioner for a few weeks, however it was fixed nonetheless.
