Salute to the old heat pump

It’s just so hard to believe that life has flown by the way it has. If I think too much on it, I really do sort of freak out a bit. We have been in this house now for 25 years. And we’re about to be empty nesters as our youngest is heading to college next fall. My wife and I started sort of talking about what life would be like once we are alone for the first time in 22 years. We both agreed that staying in this house was a bad idea. It’s an awesome house but it’s really made for families. Also, I think it would just be weird for two people and a dog to live in a space this big. So we’re definitely planning on selling the house we just don’t know exactly when. However, the fact that we are going to sell really informed our decisions as we replace the HVAC equipment. The old heat pump did a heck of a job for almost 25 years. But we saw last summer that it was having a hard time keeping up with demand. The HVAC technician confirmed that it was time for a new heat pump. With the idea of selling the house in a year or two, we wanted to be sure we had the very latest and residential HVAC equipment. That’s a very big thing for prospective buyers particularly in this region. We have met with the HVAC contractor twice and are excited to welcome the new HVAC unit along with all sorts of new HVAC technology. But I will say that it’s going to be tough to say goodbye to that old heat pump as it’s taking such great care of us for nearly a quarter of a century.
