My boss must be insane.
In order to partially cover recent financial losses, he is severely restricting our use of the control unit in the middle of a heat wave in the middle of the summer! He gave us a large talk sureterday about cutting costs anywhere it’s possible.
A nice part of the discussion was what he considered to be our abuse of the control unit that controlled the temperature of our office space. The control unit was barely on my radar prior to this. Apparently, other employees had been having control unit wars, or something. Honestly, the fluctuation in temperatures wasn’t something that I noticed too much. Now, but, after this large long talk about budgeting, the honestly next afternoon, I noticed a distinct difference in the temperature of the office! The control unit was now encased in a plastic sheath that required a key to open! Our boss didn’t waste any time setting that up, now did he? Also, I could barely believe how moderate it was in the office when I walked in that afternoon. I did the same thing a couple others did, I walked over to the control unit to see what temperature it was studying. Our boss had locked the temperature to 77°! 77°? That’s an absurdly high temperature. You almost may as well not even have the air conditioner running at all. In fact, the air conditioner didn’t have much trouble keeping the temperature at 77° throughout the afternoon. I only heard it kick on a handful of times. Meanwhile, everybody’s dripping with sweat at their desk as well as having misgivings about their task situation!
