It’s expensive to pay for heating and cooling costs when energy prices increase

I don’t know how anyone is affording to live right now with rampant inflation across the board.

It’s not just food and fuel that have increased in cost, nearly every store I shop at has decided to increase their prices across the board.

I suppose it’s because of the fuel costs associated with shipping products from one place to another. For instance, my favorite brand of water saw a 30% price increase on their various products. I read that it is almost exclusively due to the weight it costs to ship this water from one place in the country to another, as the costs to produce the water itself have only increased by 10% at most. Products like marshmallows, though, have seen lower prices increases due to the weight of shipping them. The same goes for many of the generic varieties of napkins, toilet paper, and paper towels. One service that has seen a massive price increase is residential heating and cooling. I learned that heating and cooling costs are positively correlated with energy prices. When it costs more to utilize the same energy needed to run your air conditioner or furnace, those machines are going to inevitably cost a lot more to run in the long run. I see that gasoline is finally dropping in price, which indicates that the average cost of oil is going down at the same time. Hopefully we’ll see drops in the cost of utilities like residential electricity as gasoline decreases in price. I’m not holding my breath and expect HVAC costs to remain high for the foreseeable future.
